Valerie A. Koehler

March 15, 1938 – January 8, 2025

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Valerie Ann Koehler, 86, on January 8, 2025, in Dacula, Georgia. Born in Huyton Roby, Lancashire, England, Valerie was the beloved daughter of Thomas and Charlotte Bush and sister to Patty, William, Gillian, and Thomas.

Valerie was preceded in death by her Parents, Thomas and Charlotte Bush, husband, Fred Koehler, founder of Lynfred Winery, and her daughter, Karen Crisp. She is survived by her sons and their wives, David and Kim and Colin and Michelle; grandchildren, John, Amanda, Jason, Stephan, David, Angela, Benjamin, Caroline, and Cole; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her loyal dog, Gizmo.

Valerie’s vivacious spirit, humor, and charm touched everyone she met. She was Fred’s partner in life and business, helping to build Lynfred Winery and expand it to Wheaton and Naperville. Her legacy lives on in the winery’s excellence and the joy she brought to so many.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 3–6 pm at Lynfred Winery in Roselle, Illinois. Please join us in honoring her memory.
