Allan Paul Elsasser, of Pinckney, MI (formerly of Saline), age 87, passed away peacefully December 3, 2023, at Hampton Manor Assisted Living of Hamburg, MI. He was born July 30th, 1936, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Ernst (Mick) & Arvah Elsasser.
Allan grew up in Dexter, where he attended Dexter High School. He then went on to attend Michigan Tech. He married Linda Wright on July 26, 1958, and they initially lived in Dexter then moved to Saline to raise their family. In 2002, built their lovely, forever home in Pinckney, MI.
Growing up, Allan worked alongside his father in the family business – Elsasser’s Service, a Sinclair gas and service station located in Dexter, MI. He worked for McDonald Dairy for several years, then went on to R & B Machine Tool Company, Saline, from where he retired.
Once Allan retired, he thoroughly enjoyed his hobby and love of building his Lionel train layout and he loved watching sports.
Allan is survived by his wife of 65 years, Linda Jean (Wright) Elsasser, sons Michael (Peggy) Elsasser, Jeffrey (Laura) Elsasser, sister Kathryn (Joe) Anderson, of Traverse City, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, as well as several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Allan was preceded in death by his parents Ernst & Arvah Elsasser.
Arrangements will be handled by Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Home of Dexter. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024, at St. Andrews United Church of Christ, Visitation starts at 10:00am with the service at 11:00am.
