Alvena Louise Lawson

Lawson, Alvena Louise passed away peacefully Monday, June 10, 2013 at the age of 79, at her daughter’s residence. Alvena was a resident of Webster Township, as are her two surviving children. Alvena was born to Anna (Brewer) and Stanford Branch in Paragould, Arkansas in June of 1933. She married Ted Lawson in 1951 (deceased 1998) in Paragould, Arkansas. Alvena was a housewife for many years before obtaining a position at Ford Motor Company’s Milan plant where she worked for over twenty years prior to retirement. Alvena was an avid gardener and a licensed nail technologist. She is survived by her two brothers - Kenneth and Benny Branch of Paragould, Arkansas, daughter Betty Lawson, and son James Lawson. Her oldest son, Sherman Lawson preceded her in death. Grandchildren include Scott Lawson of Templeton, CA, Matthew Ross of Oxford, MI and Rachael Lawson of Webster Twp., MI. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 25th from 6-8pm at the Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 3410 Broad St., Dexter, MI. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, at 10:30am at the funeral chapel with Chaplain Beth Foster presiding.
