Dee was born on August 13 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to the late Raymond Charles and Donna Jean (Murphy) Gregory. She grew up in Dexter and graduated from Dexter High School.
Dee worked for the City of Ann Arbor for more than 30 years. During her career, she held a variety of positions, including working in the downtown parking structures and at the City Garage, where everyone knew to listen when Dee had something to say.
Dee had a vibrant personality and was often the life of the party. She loved listening to rock and roll music, with Aerosmith being among her favorites. On one memorable occasion, she was even invited on stage at a concert, where she sang her heart out.
Dee enjoyed the finer things in life and always took pride in her appearance. She was often impeccably dressed, with her hair and nails perfectly done. She especially loved summertime in Ann Arbor and could frequently be found exploring the annual Ann Arbor Art Fair.
Dee will be missed by her sons, Jeremy Blackburn and Brennan Blackburn; her grandchildren, Vincent and Sid Blackburn; her siblings, randy Gregory, Steve (Jeannette O'Donnell) Gregory and Tammy Gregory; her nieces and nephews; and her former husband and friend, Everette Thurman "Buddy" Blackburn.
Private services will take place at a later date, with burial in her family's plot at St. Andrew Cemetery.
Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel is honored to serve Dee's family. Online condolences may be expressed through the funeral home's website.
