Janice Marie Mace

November 4, 1953January 6, 2019

On 1//6/19 we said goodbye to a loving wife, sister, best friend and long time Dexter resident Janice Mace. Janice was born November 4, 1953 in Ann Arbor to Richard Hartman and Louise Peters. Janice grew up in Ann Arbor where she attended Pioneer High school. Janice drove a semi and a tow truck at one time but the thing she loved was waitressing. Her fun energetic silly nature brought a smile to everyone she met. In 1991 Janice met her husband Jeffrey Mace and married March 4th 1998. Janice loved summertime and spending time in her flowers, the hotter the better. Coloring was another hobby she loved to do. Janice would color inspirational cards and hand them out to people reminding all to " Be kind", "Be Thankful" or just "Have a Nice day. " She will be deeply missed.

Janice and Jeff and I were neighbors until just a few years ago, and I remember fondly our conversations and Janice’s garden, which she loved and tended carefully. She will be missed by all that knew her. My condolences to Jeff.

Knew Janice as a neighbor on Jackson Ave. in Ann Arbor as she was a friend of my Sister and a year ahead of me in Slauson Jr. High. She was a lot of a good way...we were silly kids.
She came to my Uncles Church a time or two.
Had always wondered where she was after Jr. High since we moved to Whitmore Lake before High School.
Rest in Peace friend.

I always loved Janice’s sarcastic humor. She made me laugh and smile all the time. The last time I saw her, she was passing out gifts for Christmas. I am grateful for that final memory of her and her generosity.
