Janis Jonell Clark, age 61, of Dexter, Michigan passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Janis was born January 3, 1960 in Ypsilanti, Michigan the daughter of the late George and Alice Bingner. She lived in Dexter her entire life. Janis worked at Maplewood Lanes for over 30 years and then started her own successful cleaning business. It would be wrong to say Janis lost her battle with cancer because she never stopped fighting, no matter how sick she was she remained determined. Janis was working until the last day of her life. When anyone else would have been broken, Janis remained strong. Her children meant the world to her and her love for them was boundless. She loved to travel, especially to a beach; she loved her cats and enjoyed caring for her outdoor spaces. Even on the days that Janis most struggled, she would take the time to help or offer kindness to others. Her heart was wide open and her energetic spark was shared with everyone who crossed her path. “With hope, anything is possible” was a motto Janis lived by. Her example of living makes all of us who shared time with Janis better people. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Ashley and Austin Clark, her mother Alice Bingner, her brother Barry Conn, her niece Sarah Pau and her 4 beloved cats. She was preceded in death by her father George Bingner, her brother Charles Conn and sister Linda Myers. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 12-4 pm at the UAW Local 1284 (2795 M-52, Chelsea, MI 48118). Janis truly spent her time focusing on living not on the fact that her days were numbered. “I’d rather die while I am living than live while I’m dead.”
