

Mary C. Farrell of Pinckney, MI, age 77, passed away on January 12, 2017 at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI. She was born in Chelsea, MI on April 19, 1939 to the late Arthur & Leone (Egan) Weber. She is a graduate of St. Thomas High (Gabriel Richard) in 1957 and is also a graduate of the St. Joseph School of Practical Nursing, Pontiac, MI in 1958. For about ten years after graduation, she worked as a staff nurse in surgical specialty units at the University of Michigan Hospitals, Ann Arbor, MI and as a supervisor in the Central Sterile Supply Department at the Suburban Hospital,
Bethesda, MD. The remainder of her years she was a homemaker and a loving and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and adopted “mom” to many of her children’s friends. Everyone was always welcome and there was room for more in her home. Additionally, she willingly volunteered her time and services helping others in such causes as the Women’s Club of Darien, IL and the Ladies Auxiliary at the St. Joseph Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, IN. For those who knew her well she will be remembered as the neighborhood nurse in all communities in which she lived. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dexter, MI. She is (preceded in death) by her father Arthur Weber, her mother Leone Egan, a brother Francis Weber and sister Viola O’Donnell. She is (survived) by a brother James A. (Stella - dec) Grand Rapids, MI, Doris (Wilbur- dec) Calcut, Ann Arbor, MI, Viola (Leonard) O’Donnell of Wyandotte, MI, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, her loving husband of 57 years John T. Sr. of Pinckney, MI, four children John T. Jr. (Marie) Ann Arbor, MI Dianne M. (David - dec) Adams, Lockport, IL., Michelle L. (Steven) Baker of Ft. Wayne, IN., Edward A., (Kerry), WestBrook, ME., and twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mary’s family will receive family and friends at Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel 3410 Broad St., Dexter, MI. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 15 from 4-8 pm, with the rosary being recited at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 16 at 11am located at the St. Joseph Village Catholic Church, Dexter, MI with visitation starting at 10 am.
