

Norman Edward Koch passed away on April 18, 2025 at the age of 86. Norm was born on January 29. 1939 in Plymouth Michigan and was raised at Portage Lake in Dexter Michigan. He graduated from Dexter High School in 1957. He later earned an Associates degree in heating and cooling.
Norm served 6 years in the Navy on the USS Bristol he earned an honorable discharge in 1963. He retired from Michcon after working 33 years as a heating and cooling professional.
Norm was a hardworking and charismatic man with a large social circle. He had a knack for fixing things and was always happy to help his friends out. He built several houses for friends, but building his own home on West Lake was his proudest accomplishment. His home was a popular spot for friends and family to enjoy nature and go fishing. Norm loved the lakes and boating, in his youth he was very talented at water skiing. After retirement Norm became a talented Shag dancer, he participated in many Shag dancing competitions on the east coast. He lived an adventurous fulfilled life. In his senior years you could find him at the diner playing cards with his friends or on a cruise traveling the world.
Norm is preceded in death by his parents Anna and Norm Koch and his sister Annabelle Lebeck. He is survived by his two kids Robert Koch of Troy Michigan and Desiree Dove of Fredericksburg Virginia as well as six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The family would like to thank all Norms friends for the care and compassion they showed him on his final days. Family and friends are invited to attend a burial at St Joseph's Cemetery, 2528 Baker Road, Dexter MI 48130 on June 21, 2025 at 1:30 pm.
