It is with great sadness that the family of Paul Clark Crews announces his passing, peacefully at home, after 67 years on this earth. Paul was born July 3, 1950 the 7th of 10 children. He grew up in Dexter, Michigan where he found his love of the outdoors including hunting and fishing. He made a career working for the Ann Arbor Public Schools and retired after 20 years as a custodian in 2011. Family was always important to Paul. His evening work schedule allowed him to spend days with his children and his sons remember afternoons spent fishing in Lower Huron Metropark. His love of the outdoors continued and, on weekends, he could frequently be seen on his rider mower caring for his lawn. Throughout his life, Paul found humor in everyday situations and never failed to delight grandchildren with toys that made them collapse into giggles. He recently fulfilled his dream of living on a lake in the Irish Hills area of Michigan. Paul is lovingly remembered by Karen Jo (Lemelin Hutcheson) Crews of Ypsilanti, MI, to whom he was married for 35 years, his children Rebecca Lynne (Jeremy) Smiedendorf of Chelsea, MI, Paul Michael (Allison) Crews of Centerville, OH, Eric William Crews of Ann Arbor, MI, and David George Crews of Ypsilanti, MI, and his four grandchildren Tristan, Aurelia, Archer, and Isla. He is survived by his siblings Shirley Ann (Gerald) Forshee of Chelsea, MI, Linda Carol (Dennis) Geiger of West Columbia, SC, Mary Nell (Jerry) Blough of Chelsea, MI, Evelyn Lee (James) Socks of Dexter, MI, Pamela Joy Crews of Napa, CA, Bonnie Lynn (Ken) Mangus of River Junction, MI, Michael Kent Crews of Dexter, MI, his sister-in-law Sandra Crews of Dexter, MI, and brother-in-law Michael McClanahan of Grosse Ile, MI and his many nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his father Willie Leon Crews in 1980, his brother Charles Allen (Sandra) Crews in 1993, his sister Janice Kay (Michael) McClanahan in 2001, and his mother Essie Lee (Roebuck) Crews in 2011. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Hosmer-Muelig Funeral Chapel, Dexter, MI. Family visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am with a service at 11:00 and burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery to follow. "All these places have their moments, with lovers and friends, I still can recall. Some are dead and some are living. In my life, I’ve loved them all." –In My Life, The Beatles
