Raymond Carl Quigley

September 24, 1939January 31, 2018

Raymond C. Quigley, 78, of Dexter, MI, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2018. Ray was born in Detroit, MI on September 24, 1939 to Dr. William G. and Catherine (McIntyre) Quigley. After Catherine passed away at a young age, William married Agnes (Phelan) and together they raised Ray and his four siblings, Bill, Jack, Mary and Carol. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a truly skilled tradesman. He worked his whole career on boilers, heating/cooling and plumbing as well as many other mechanical projects.

From a young age Ray began spending time in Dexter on the family farms and other than some time spent in Southfield, was able to enjoy the area for most of his life. Ray was a loyal and simple Irishman who enjoyed helping people, telling a lively story with friends and family over a cold beverage, keeping up on national politics and sharing a hearty laugh. Ray is survived by his loving sister, Sr. Carol Quigley, IHM, sister-in-law Rosemary Quigley and twelve nieces and nephews and their children, all of whom he enjoyed watching grow up. He is also survived by his great friend John Cheek. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bill and Jack, sister-in-law Patricia Quigley, sister, Mary, her husband David Doherty and nephew John Doherty.

Family will receive friends Thursday February 8, 2018 from 4pm-6pm at Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel 3410 Broad Street, Dexter, MI 48130. A service of remembrance will be held at 6:00PM.
