Ten years and not a day goes by that I don't think of you and smile, Sean. I still remember your goofy laugh and silly jokes and often think what might have happened if you weren't gone too soon. 

I wish I was a better writer so that I could accurately convey what I want to say about you. I know that it's been six years, but every single day I think about you. You were one of my first friends in 8th grade, and I'm so thankful for the short amount of time that I knew you. I wish so badly that you could be experiencing college with me, you would be a sophomore this year, which is just so weird to think about. If someone were to ask me what the most impactful thing that has happened in my life to date, I would say it was knowing you. You were so funny, loving, caring, and just one of the most genuine people I knew. I knew that I could count on you and from the moment our friendship started I knew that you would be in my life for a long time. You still are, even if it is in a different way. Every milestone that I have reached, I have thought about you. I just miss you so so much. Just know that I'm thinking about you and I can not wait to see you again in Heaven. I love you Sean.

Today was Nicks grad party, Sean. He talked about you to me all day. He's opened up to me so much about his feelings towards you. He misses you so much. Today he pointed out a young boy that he said reminded him of you, his looks, his speech, and even his actions. In response to his observation I told him that this was your way of letting him know that you were still with us in spirit. That you were among all of his family there, and that you were proud of him just like the rest of us. I just wanted to thank you Sean for reminding nick that you're still watching over him. He misses you everyday, and everyday, especially today as I met the rest of your family, that I would've gotten the opportunity to meet you here on earth. Maybe in another life, perhaps.

i know it has been almost 2 years but i was thinking about you ALL week! i didn't really know you that well but you were in my cs&l class, and you were always soo happy and fun! i remember when you used to come over to my group and just make us laugh so hard and talk to us, and i will ALWAYS have the memory when the class was playing musical chairs and you and i were racing to get the last chair and i was like half sitting down and you came and tackled me just to get the chair :) and i got a giant bruise because i fell against someone else's chair.  but now when i think about it I'm glad that happened, that was really the last time we talked.  
 
i remember when we first got the news, a group of students all went to frankenmuth and we got back to school, not knowing yet, and we were all still energetic from being out of school and when we came through the parking lot your whole class was sitting on the grass in front of the school but we didn't know why.  then mrs.bronson and the school nurse took us all into a room and told us, i was so devastated and i was crying and thinking about you that whole day, but i just never could think of any reason something like that would happen to you.. i will forever miss you and keep you in my heart forever

i'm very sorry for everyone who known Sean. im going through depression as well & i feel horrible all the time. but everytime i feel like doing something i say wait 24 hrs. it hasnt failed me yet. if only Sean was still here so i could meet him.my prayers go out to his family, friends, ect. <3

from the way nick talks about you i can only imagine what a great kid you were. i just wish i couldve gotten the chance to meet you myself. im so sorry that you've left earth, but im comforted by the fact that i know heaven is a much better place. i visited with nick the day after the one year memorial of your passing and i asked him if he ever talked to you. and he said no, i know hes gone. which made me sad because i know youre not gone. maybe physically, but you are forever in our hearts. your spirit is still alive.

I never knew you, but in the last year or so your story has reached me and affected me. I struggle with depression as well. It therefore gives a small, unfortunate understanding as to why you did what you did. I'm positive you were an amazing, beautiful person who deserved so much more that you got here on earth. Maybe I'll see you around someday.

I didn't write anything when this first happened. Probably because I just didn't have any idea what to say. Sean was probably the best guy friend I have ever had. He was nice, smart, funny, and just awesome to be around. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about him. I can't imagine the pain you must be in, and I still pray for you guys. The whole dexter community was shaken and still is. I know that I just have to hang in until I see him again in Heaven. <3

As I sit here reading the guest book for Sean; my eyes fill with tears at the sorrow you must all be feeling.  As a parent we never want to think of ever going through what you are going through today and this past week.  You are all in our prayers.

Sean and my son were in the same class for the last two years and became friends.  He often mentioned Sean's great sense of humor and how nice he was to EVERYONE, which is too often a rare trait in middle school.  He remembers things like Sean helping him with his math, talking about past favorite Christmas presents, and chatting with him on facebook. Please know that Sean was well loved and will be missed for as long as his memory remains in our hearts.  God bless you, keeping you close and giving you strength.

Nothing can fix what happened but I would like to say a few words about him. Sean was one of the funniest kids I have met and a nice kid. He knew how to cheer someone up on a bad day. Sean was an amazing kid.  He was in my CS&L group in the 2009-2010 school year, and he was great to have around.  He was funny, he was bold, and, even though he was always the tough guy, he was very sweet.  He was friendly and never shut up during our 6th hour class, something I was glad of :)  We had fun in that class: we collected sunglasses as part of our grade, and there was one pare he would always wear (until we had to turn them in), simply because he could.  One time he, one of our other group members, and I all got popsicles from the glasses drive we had just finished.  It was funny, because it was an act of stealth, since no one else in the class got them.  We called him turtle-man, because on the first day of CS&L, when we had to say our name and something interesting about us, he said that his turtle had run away.  There are so many other good times with Sean that I can't possibly remember in one sitting, let alone write down of them.  I miss him and I love him.  My heart goes out to the Haviland family, and I pray for you every day.  The Lord is merciful, and I know that He loved Sean just like He loves every single one of His children.  I am so excited for the day when we all go to heaven and get to see Sean again.  Until then, we hold on, even though sometimes it seems impossible.  God bless you all.
