

Dennison (Barr), Annie May -92, passed away suddenly Monday April 15th, 2013 in Digby General Hospital. Born in Weaver Settlement June 4th, 1920, Annie was a daughter of the late William and Laura (Lewis) Barr. After graduating from Mack Business College in Kentville, Annie took a position with Nova Scotia Dept. of Agriculture & Marketing; where she worked for over 25 years. During this time, Annie assisted at the Digby Co. Exhibition and the N.S. Mink Breeders Association shows. She took an interest in genealogy and after much research she published histories of the two family trees. She was an active member of Weaver Settlement Cemetery Group and its restoration; she compiled the only known history on the Old Baptist Church activities and cemetery records. She was a life member of Weymouth Historical Society, a Charter member of Weymouth Church of Christ, where for several years; she was secretary of the Maritime Christian Missionary Society (Disciples). Annie is survived by sisters, Della Prime, Weymouth; Dora Bell, Weymouth, brothers, Lester Barr, Weaver Settlement; Rev. Sendel Barr, Iowa, U.S.A.; nephew, Clarence Prime, niece, Shanna Prime and sister in-law, Hilda Barr. She was predeceased by husband, Albert Dennison, brother, Gordon E. Barr, infant sister Jean, brothers-in-law, Forrest Prime and W. Granthan Bell. Visitation will be 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Friday April 19th, from Jayne’s Funeral Home, Weymouth North. Funeral Service at 3pm, Saturday in Weymouth Church of Christ. Rev. Dave Cawley presiding. Interment in Weymouth Church of Christ Cemetery.
