Carl Ashbee McCormick

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carl ''Mickey'' McCormick who passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Weymouth Mills, he was a son of the late Carl and Dorothy (Doucette) McCormick. Mickey spent most of his life working digging clams for Innovative Fisheries. When not working you would find him fixing outboard motors or working on different things in the yard with his grandson Layton who he could always count on to help him and Mom whenever needed. Later in life, you would see him fishing in town with his grandsons Kierdan and Nathaniel or hunting in the winter months with his grandson Kierdan, who was always with him. They were inseparable. Mickey is survived by his wife of 61 years Mary McCormick, 6 children, Brenda McCormick; St Bernard, Connie Thomas (Danny) Weymouth; Paula Hill, Weymouth Mills; Troy (Lucy) Granville Beach; Crystal (Charlie), Digby; Denise (Pedro) Weymouth; 10 grandkids, 12 great grandkids and 3 great great grandchildren, brother Murray (Francette) Doucette, Weymouth. Besides his parents, Carl and Dorothy McCormick, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Krista. There will be no visitation or service by request. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Jayne's Funeral Home, Digby. Special thanks to Yarmouth Regional Hospital and Digby General Hospital doctors and nurses for the their compassion and care.
