

Thomas, Carl James – 70, Digby, passed away at home January 4, 2011. Born in Digby, Carl was a son of the late Arthur and Annie (Robicheau) Thomas, formerly of Marshalltown. Carl worked for the Fundy Restaurant for 45 years. He loved his job very much, and his dedication was known by all. They dedicated a room for him at the restaurant, calling it the Carl Thomas Room. You could be guaranteed to see him walking to Sobey’s on a daily basis, giving that friendly smile to everyone. Carl is survived by sisters Charlotte (Eddie) Seeley, Marshalltown; Patsy Lombard, Weymouth; Marilyn (Laurie) Doucet, Edmonton; Nan (Leonard) Doucet, Edmonton; brothers Ray (Elsie) Thomas, Marshalltown; Chester (Linda)Thomas, Marshalltown, sister-in-law Clara Allbright, Bridgetown; many nieces and nephews. Carl was predeceased by two sisters in infancy, and a brother-in-law Stanwood Allbright. Visitation will be Sunday January 9th, 7-9pm in Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch St. Digby (245-2525). Funeral service will be held Monday, January 10th at 10 am in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Digby. Father Keith Billard presiding. A reception will follow in the Carl Thomas Room, Fundy Restaurant; immediately after the service. Donations in Carl’s memory may be made to the charity of choice.
