OBITUARY
Charlotte Alice White
December 17, 1933 – December 5, 2020
Charlotte Alice White December 17, 1933 - December 5, 2020
Charlotte Alice White, nearing her 87th year, passed away with her daughter by her side on December 5th, 2020. Born in Digby, NS, to the late Clyde and Hilda (Barnes) Bremner she proudly called Digby home for all of her life and loved her community.
She is survived by her son, Dale White (Halifax) and her daughter, Loretta White (Toronto) along with her sisters Marge Hudson (Roy), Elva Vantassel (Lovett) and Erma Peck along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of over 50 years, Jeffery White, son, Roger White, brother, Carl Bremner (Dolly), sister, Joyce Bremner-Smith (Norman), beloved niece, Valerie Scholey, and dear furry friend of 20 years, Willie Whiskers.
Charlotte was a kind and generous soul who would always make you feel at home. In her more active years she was a member of the Legion’s Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Merry Nites of the Trinity Anglican Church. She was known for her love of hats and bright colours, vast collection of tasteful clip on earrings, and always sporting a bit of lipstick. Along with a joyful giggle she had since a child to this day. She enjoyed being a member of the seniors bowling group, darts, senior games and anything musical would get her toes tapping. She was known for a solid bowling arm with a slow ball that would yield regular strikes and spares. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening and winning awards for her floral arrangements at the Pines. She loved sitting with family and friends sharing stories of old times and present moments. She was a wonderful mother, sister and friend and knew how to enjoy the small things in life.
She would regularly write stories of fun memories to celebrate friend’s and family’s birthdays and anniversaries to be shared in a special way and cherished their lives as they ended. Sadly Covid-19 has placed restrictions on her celebration of life in person. For those who wish to attend, a memorial service will be held on December 11 at 2pm at Jaynes Funeral Home with Ross Hammond of Trinity Anglican Church, officiating and followed with a private family internment. Attendance will be limited to 50. Whether you attend or not, we invite you to wear something colourful and think of her on December 11th, she would love that.
The family would like to thank the staff of Tideview Terrace for their kindness and care. Any donations in her memory can be made to the Cat Fund at Tideview through https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/id/17331/ (select Cat Fund) or your charity of choice. Rosie, the cat, was a constant and loving companion right until the very end.
We are deeply saddened and will miss her greatly. She will be forever in our hearts.

Dale and family. So sorry to hear about your mom, she was a special lady. Had a nice chat with both you and her at Relay a couple of years ago.
Whenever I make myself an eggnog, I always think back to your grandparents house when Erma or Elva would make me one with the hand eggbeater.
Thanks for including a photo of my mom, it was a nice surprise and made me feel good. Take care. Will be thinking of you.

Dear Loretta and Dale, Regrettably we will not be able to attend the Celebration of Aunt Charlotte's Life on Friday. But rest assured we will be thinking of you both as well as Aunt Charlotte, Uncle Jeff and Roger. All very important people in my life especially when growing up. I have so many memories of food, fun plus a host of photos. Take care and stay safe.

May Charlotte's memory be a blessing to her family and all who knew her.
I have very fond memories of her sweet smile and kind personality during the years I was growing up in Digby and when I went back to visit my parents and home town over the years. My memories are of events at Trinity Anglican and in Mount Pleasant, not only of Charlotte and Jeff but of her parents.
I will be thinking of her and of those dear to her tomorrow.
