Claudette Macleod

It is with broken hearts, our beloved mom, Claudette Simone Marie Macleod (LaPorte), was taken home by the angels on January 21, 2022. Born in Montreal, QC on April 14th, 1947. She was a beloved daughter of the late Lenora (Melanson) LaPorte and her late step father Martin Saulnier.

The love for her family and every person she touched gave her the strength to continue through all of the cancer woes, the ups, and the downs. Mom never had a negative word, just “smiles” and positivity. Finding her diary and poetry book showed us and gave validation of the amazing woman she was. Claudette is survived by daughters, Brenda Marie Belliveau (Marcel), Shawna-Lee Ann Hill (John); sisters, Louise Moore (LaPorte), Madeline “Midge” LaPorte (Jerry), Jeannine Tripp (LaPorte), Faye “Sherry” LaPorte (Jerry); brother, Paul LaPorte; grandchildren, Darien Charles Hill, Craig Edward Charles Belliveau (Hayley), Jamie-Lee Marie Sabine (Norman); 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. With special mention to godson, Chris LaPorte and to extended family, Christine Heisler. Donations in memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We would like to share a piece of her book on “Hope” she left us so much.

So don’t focus on hope alone,

Because your life as a “person” is gone.

It’s a building step for what is ahead,

One needs to get into life instead.

You need to go ahead and hope for the best.

For “you” will know “where” to let it rest
