December 3rd, 2022 we said goodbye to our father, brother and uncle Curtis Leroy Handspiker. He was the son of the late Nelson and Dorothy (Titus) Handspiker. Originally of Mount Pleasant was born August 5, 1946. Curtis was employed with Ingersoll Paper Company until health issues forced him to early retirement.
In addition to his parents Curtis was predeceased by his sister Barbara Chandler, brother Darrell and infant sister Leona.
Curtis is survived by his children Jeff / Sam Handspiker, Trevor Handspiker and his children Christian, Elijah, brother Beverley (Phyllis) Handspiker, sister Marilyn Poirier, sister Virginia (Harry) Lewis, and many nieces and nephews.
Curtis lived his last few years at Tideview Terrace where he was happy and well taken care of. Curtis took pleasure in the recreation department, playing card games such as crib and skip-bo. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the other residents as well as the wonderful staff at Tideview. Curtis loved having family meals with his sister Virginia and taking drives with his brother Beverly. His sense of humour will be greatly missed and for anyone that knew him well, his sideways smile. We know his mother will be waiting for him, to take care of him in heaven as she always did in life.
Curtis, you will be missed and until we meet again we will always know you are still watching over us, your family with love always.
Visitation will be 1-2 PM Friday December 9 with a funeral service proceeding, all from Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. Pastor Daniel Swim, Josiah Cormier officiating.
