

It is with heavy hearts the family of Curtis Raymond Nesbitt, 89 of Centreville, Digby Co. announce his passing in Annapolis Community Health Center on August 21, 2022, after a brief difficult battle with cancer. Curtis was the youngest child of the late Ralph and Effie (Raymond) Nesbitt of Centreville. He spent much of his younger life on the water. He went trawling, fishing with his neighbor, John Robicheau in his youth, and with his brother Elmer he did a variety of fishing, trawling, traps and dragger (nets). He was working as a crew member earlier in his career but later became Captain of his own crew. Curtis is survived by his wife Gladys, sons Randy (Cindy) Nesbitt, Moncton; NB; Kimball (Krista) Nesbitt, Seabrook; daughter Rebecca Nesbitt (Chris MacNeil), Halifax; grandchildren Tyler Nesbitt, Moncton, NB; Kristopher Nesbitt (Stacy), Grand Prairie, AB.; and their son Karson and Koty Nesbitt (Kelsey) and their sons Sylas and Archer, PEI. Curtis was predeceased by brothers Herbie, Roy, Arnold, Ernest, Elmer, sisters Beulah, Mary, Myrtle, Goldie, Lela, Kathleen, Jessica and Leah. Visitation will be Thursday, August 25 from 12 noon until the time of service at 2pm all from Jayne’s Funeral Home, 15 Birch St. Digby. Rev. Tim Long will officiate with burial in Union Burial Ground, Lake Midway. Donations in memory can be made to Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.
