Evangeline L. (Teri) Turner, 84, of Digby died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, in Digby General Hospital after a long battle with lymphoma. Born in Spa Springs, Annapolis Co., she was the daughter of the late Everett and Elsie (Rafuse) Daniels.
Teri worked for many years at Digby General Hospital as a bookkeeper and later with the Arthritis Society of Nova Scotia as a provincial fund-raising coordinator. Her creativity is well known; she could work magic on her sewing machine, play the piano and organ by ear and decorate just about anything. She took great pride in her beautiful gardens. Teri’s life-long passion of painting land and seascapes is evident in the hundreds of pieces of art she completed. She operated small galleries over the years in places she lived; Smiths Cove, Annapolis Royal and St. Andrews, New Brunswick. She enjoyed playing bridge and loved to challenge her son and granddaughters at crib and scrabble.
She is survived by her son, Greg (Elaine), Smiths Cove; granddaughters, Angela (Robert), Umiujaq, Quebec; Lisanne (Joel), Kentville; nephews, Scott and Brian. She was predeceased by her long time partner Carl, three brothers, Charles, Cyril and Wayne and a nephew, Gary.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
