BURNHAM, Evelyn Eudora ---91, Cornwallis Park passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Hebron, Yarmouth County, she was the daughter of the late Keith and Merle Porter. Evelyn is survived by her son Keith. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon and daughter, Peggy.
Evelyn was one of a kind. She will be remembered as a strong advocate for her community and to the people around her. In retirement she directed her unselfish energy to a number of projects that she felt very passionate about. Some of these projects included pension reform, the building of the Basin Wellness Center, saving the Digby-Saint John ferry. She would also assist in any matters that would provide others to have more comfort and quality of life. She will be long remembered for her wonderful direct letters for whatever good cause to Prime Ministers, politicians of all levels, corporations and others with a more compassionate nature to people in need. She will be greatly missed by all and has left this world a better place.
Visitation today from 7.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. at Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch Street, Digby (245-2525) also where the Funeral Service will be at 1p.m on Friday, June 22nd. Rev.
