

Floyd will be remembered as loving, caring and funny. He loved to tell stories, he loved nature, especially birds, loved Blue Jays baseball but most of all he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the newest great-grandchild is carrying on his name.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Carol Melanson; daughters, Dawn Comeau, Brenda (Paul) Breakspear, Angela (Paul) Saulnier; step-daughter, Kim Melanson; son, Sam Melanson (Julie); sister, Diane Balser; brothers, Clyde Melanson, Daley Melanson, Hanford Melanson Jr.; grandchildren, Melissa Melanson, Ashley Robicheau, Michelle Sabean, Amanda Sabean, Alexandre Comeau, Brandon Melanson, Ryan Melanson; great-grandchildren, Angelina Bevis, Anthony Bevis, Reese Carey, Adrianna Babin and Floyd Melanson the 3rd as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Floyd was predeceased by his son, Floyd Melanson Jr.; brothers, James, Eldridge, Ronald; sisters, Georgina and Ruby.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby, as per Floyd’s wishes a private service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors on the medical floor at Digby General Hospital.
