OBITUARY
Gary Dale Perkins
December 1, 1952 – January 15, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gary Dale Perkins. He passed away peacefully at Yarmouth Regional Hospital on January 15, 2021 at the age of 68. Gary was born on December 1, 1952 in Digby, NS. He was the son of the late Maurice and Vera (Sanford) Perkins of Clementsvale, NS.
Gary was predeceased by his infant daughter Stacey Lee and his brother Robert (Donna) Perkins. Gary is survived and will be forever remembered by his wife Gilda (Ruggles) Digby, NS, his children Nicole (William) Wallace Clementsvale, NS, Jonathan (Lyndsay) Perkins Whitecourt, AB, grandchildren Nicholas (Danielle Comeau) Wallace, Alexander Wallace and Gage Perkins, and step children Natasha (Dave) Condon Onslo, NS, Collin (Robyn) Condon Deep Brook, NS and step grand-children Mason and Colbrun Condon. He is also survived by his sisters Kay (Paul) Hargreaves Carlton Place, ON, and Gloria (Roland) Trimper Doucetteville, NS, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
In his early years Gary was a mechanic at Jack Gillespie’s Garage in Digby, NS. He then later would be employed as maintenance staff at CFB Cornwallis, Upper Clements Park, North Hills / Heart of the Valley Nursing Home. Gary was a jack of all trades and could fix whatever was thrown at him. Gary loved being with his family; whether sitting down to a good meal or hunting with his brother. He was a loving father and grandfather. Gary enjoyed visits with friends, taking drives to town, and if you knew him well he had a love of peanut butter.
The Family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at Annapolis Royal CHC, Digby Hospital, and Yarmouth Regional Hospital for all their great care. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and Canadian Diabetes Association. A private grave side service will be conducted at a later date.
