Wheelock, James Ernest “Ernie” – Age 83 of Digby, passed away peacefully March 7th, 2016 in Digby General Hospital with his wife and son by his side. In his lifetime, Ernie drove a truck for Thompsons Transfer, Middleton and then worked for the N.S. Government from which he retired after 21 years. He gave 15 years of service to Scouts Canada in Stewiacke which he enjoyed so much. Ernie and his wife, Marie spent several winters in Florida and loved to travel; which took them places they always wanted to see. Ernie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marie (Vroom); son, Jeffrey, Digby; estranged daughter, Lynn; a niece and nephew. He was predeceased by his parents, Noble and Florence Wheelock of Karsdale; son, David in 1993; sister, Margaret Hall. In keeping with Ernie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has been entrusted to Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. Memorial donations may be made to V.O.N – 55 Stars Road, Yarmouth, B5A 2T2, directed to Digby Site.
