Joan Carol Trask Elderkin

Elderkin (Trask), Joan Carol - Age 77 of Little River passed away Sunday March 16th, 2014 peacefully at home surrounded by family. Joan was born and raised in Little River, a daughter of the late Lee and Esther Trask. She worked in the General store eventually becoming owner and operator along with her husband Royce. She was a devoted Christian and member of the Little River Baptist Church where over the years she was a Sunday school teacher and choir member. Joan loved gardening, knitting and travelling where she visited many places around the world. She was a beautiful and loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed greatly by husband, A. Royce Elderkin; daughter, Melanie (Junior) Taylor; sons, Kendall (Deborah Bishop), Gareth (Kelli), Royce (Jana); grandchildren, Amber, Shelby, Nicholas, Dylan, Alexander, Jared, Gavin, Marcus and Joshua. Besides her parents, Joan was predeceased by sisters, Beulah Trask, Jean Lambert and brother, Garfield Trask. Funeral Arrangements under the care and direction of Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm, Wednesday March 19th from Little River Baptist Church, also where the funeral service will be held at 2pm, Thursday March 20th. Pastor Noel Facey will preside with interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Little River. Donations in memory may be made to Little River Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
