L. Helena Stanton

Lillian Helena Stanton, age 87 of Centreville, Digby County, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2023 at Tideview Terrace. Born in Mink Cove, Digby County she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Leta (Hersey) Graham.

In her younger years she enjoyed bingo, bowling a couple nights a week with her husband and friends. She enjoyed many Kitchen Parties at the old homestead where she would play guitar with a butter knife. She enjoyed her many outing events with her family, and was always the humor of the party. She was well known to always have pearly white clothes hanging on the clothesline in the winter. Her family meant everything to her and she treasured every moment with them. You could always find a full house of her children’s friends, always coming and going. Her home was always a place where anyone could show up at her door and were always welcome, including strangers. She loved her many shopping trips with Tideview Terrace, so she could buy more clothes and jewelry, which was her passion. A special Thank you to all Tideview staff, Doctor Black that gave our Mom the care she received over the past 13 years. She loved all of you like family.

Helena is survived by daughters; Twilah (Donnie), Rhonda (Paul); sons, Roger, Rodney (Mary), Bryson (Christeena); sixteen grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Harry Stanton (1994); sons, Clayton in infancy; Dwayne (1988), Sherwin (2018), Sheldon (2021) and grandson, Douglas Stanton (2020).

Visitation will be 2-4pm and 6-8pm Friday, May 5, from Jayne's Funeral Home, Digby. Funeral service will be 2pm on May 7, from Jayne's Funeral Home, Digby, Pastor Mark Cress officiating.
