
Pugh, Lester Vernon - 95. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lester at Veterans Place, Yarmouth NS, March 18 2012. Born in Westport NS September 23 1916, he was the son of the late Edward and Ruth Pugh. He was predeceased by his wife Lois (Graham); brothers, Clayton, Sydney, sister, Mariam Thomas. He is survived by his son, David and daughter -in-law, Sharon, Westport NS; brother, Keith, Kingston NS and sister, Evelyn Saunders, Yarmouth NS; granddaughter, Cheryl Weir, Stittsville Ont, grandson, Todd Pugh (Tara), Ottawa, great granddaughter, Emmalayne Weir, great grandson, Kyle Weir both of Stittsville Ont; sister-in-law, Louise Garron (George), Westport NS; Betty Pugh, Saskatoon, Sask; Lee Pugh, Whitehorse, Yukon; many nieces and nephews. Lester was a WW2 Veteran, spending 5 years in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineering branch of the Canadian Army in Europe. After the war he returned home to Westport where he made his living as a successful dairy farmer providing Westport with dairy and meat products for 20 years. He also worked as a fisherman on the East and West coast, at construction in British Columbia and as an engineer on the Westport Freeport ferry. He was always a devoted Royal Canadian Legion lifetime member having recently receiving his 65 year
membership award from Branch 92 Freeport NS.
Lester will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him for his love of life, his friendly caring ways and exceptional easy going personality. No visitation by Request. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Jaynes Funeral Home 7 Birch St. Digby (245-2525) Graveside service held at a later date.
