

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Frances (Melanson) Thibideau, on August 17, 2023, from natural causes. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched during her 101 years on this earth.
Marie was a member of Holy Cross Parish in Plympton, NS where she spent her entire life.
Marie was a devoted Catholic belonging to the St. Ann Society.
Marie was born on July 28th, 1922 and she was predeceased by her husband Arthur (Ted) Thibideau, parents Stella (Comeau) and Charles Melanson, brothers and sisters, Gus, Mary, Jane, and Agnes.
Beloved and greatly missed by her daughter Faye Marie (Alexander Wayne) Morrison, granddaughter Lindsey Faye (Todd) Williams, grandson Christopher Wayne Arthur (Lauryn) Morrison, great-grandson Alexander Williams and great-granddaughter Iylah Morrison.
Marie lived a full life, in her younger years she worked as a bookkeeper at Vaughn Warner’s Store in Plympton. After her marriage to Arthur, she spent the remainder of her life as a homemaker. Most of all she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, enjoying the times she spent with her family. She instilled strong values in her daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marie will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She made friends easily with her gentle disposition and kindness to neighbours.
Visitation will be held at Jaynes Funeral Home in Digby from 6 to 8 PM on Monday August 21st. The funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Digby on Tuesday August 22nd at 11 AM. Interment will follow the Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery in Plympton.
Marie’s family would like to thank the staff of the third floor of the Yarmouth Regional Hospital as well as the staff on the second floor Palliative Care Unit at Digby General Hospital for the wonderful care they provided Marie.
