Father July 4th, 2012. She joins her mother, father, brothers, Richard
(infant), Gerald, daughters, Sheila (infant), Linda, husband, George. Born in Plympton, NS, June 28, 1924, to parents, Ambrose Thibodeau & Rose E.
Thibodeau, nee Ambrose. Grandparents, Justine Thibodeau & Catherine
Melanson & John D. Ambrose & Mary Thibault. Marion won the heart of
Chesley ”George” Foote, a Newfoundland boy at Cornwallis Naval base. She
married “the handsome man in uniform” August 1, 1946. Except for a brief
time when she worked at The Big Apple restaurant in Digby, she spent
almost her entire life living in Plympton, content raising her 14
children & building many life-long friendships. Marion’s life was
enriched by the love of her brothers, Gerald & Richard. One of her
greatest blessings from childhood until the year of her death was the
love & support of her cousins Jean & Margaret Amero, affectionately
called “sisters”. Marion didn’t want great wealth or recognition during
her life; her greatest joys came from the simple things - playing cards,
quilting, berry picking, sharing the bounty from her beloved apple
trees, playing Aggravation, park picnics & family time. We smile when we
hear “motherisims” from her grandchildren, “Oh, Sugar!”, “Better days
are coming”, “We’re so lucky to live in Canada”. We will honour our
mother’s memory by doing our best to follow her example – always love &
help your siblings; have faith in God; honesty is not optional; make the
world a better place. Marion leaves children Owen, Martin (Lena), Gary,
Rose (Mel) Button, Rick (Alma), Stephen (Diane), Brian (Susan), Faye
(Boyd) Haight, Brenda (Arnie) Reistad, Donna (John) Bryson, David, Dean.
Her legacy includes grandchildren Dorion, Hanna, Amanda, James, Jaclyn,
Julie, Travis, Kelsey, Jennifer, Shauna, Curtis, Derrick, Nicholas,
Dallas, Jason, Tanya, Tammy, Crystal, Gary, Heather, Lisa, Paul, Sandi,
Debra, Gwen, Trudy, Jason, Cameron, Jennifer and Stephanie and 28 great grandchildren.
