It’s with heartfelt sorrow we announce the passing of the best wife, mom and nanny anyone could ask for.
Marjorie was well known throughout the community as an experienced seamstress who could use her golden needles to sew anything from a biker’s crest to a teepee and anything in between! Over the years her skillful hands created many costumes and skating dresses for the Digby Figure Skating Club. Anyone being fitted for the “Wedding gown of their dreams”, prom dress or trying a pair of pants to be hemmed would have heard Marge telling them, “Stand up Straight and don’t look down”. Knowing mom’s passion for sewing, we hope she’s still threading her golden needle! She had the sweetest of sweet tooth, a love for flowers and gardening and enjoyed music, especially songs by the Beach Boys and Fleetwood Mac. Turn it up, Mitch!! Marge had an abundance of friends and reached the hearts of many with her generous heart and witty nature, laughs and small talk across the kitchen table while offering a cup of coffee to anyone entering her home.
Marjorie is survived by her husband John, daughter Denise (Keenan Melanson) Cowan, Digby; sister Carol Belliveau, Digby, grandchildren Quincie, Chandler, Zachary, Hailie. She was predeceased by sons Mitchell, Joseph, daughter Jane, brother Junior Belliveau and sister- in- law Mary Belliveau.
No visitation by request. Funeral Service will be held 11am, Tuesday, August 11, 2020 from St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church Digby. Father Raymond will officiate with burial in Madonna Cemetery, Marshalltown.
All the family would like to thank everyone who has helped in any way. Special thanks to the nurses and Doctors and Staff at the Digby General Hospital, Yarmouth Regional, the Dickson Center ,EHS, Home Care and VON. She would always comment “they’re good to me”.
To all her friends, especially , Vi, Gennette and Susan who went above and beyond to help Mom this past year. To all that have known Mom , thanks for everything ! Like Mom would always say “It is what it is”.
