

Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Marlene was the daughter of the late Francis Cole and Leona Pleasant. Throughout her working years, she was employed by both the Municipality of Digby and Public Health, where she was known for her dedication and care for others.
Marlene was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Weymouth Legion for many years and was also a devoted member of Mount Beulah Baptist Church. Community and faith were important parts of her life.
In her spare time, Marlene loved surrounding herself with friends and family. She adored her grandchildren, and many children of friends and family lovingly knew her as “Nana.” Marlene also loved playing cards and hosting game nights with the kids. She enjoyed the occasional social drink, loved listening to music, and could often be found dancing and laughing. Known for her wisdom, many people gathered around Marlene’s kitchen table for advice, guidance, and her famous heartfelt lectures
Marlene is survived by her sons, Luke Bishop (Linda) and Adrian Bishop (Amy); her brother, Wade Cole (Maria); and her sister, Joy Marcial (Ralph). She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Chris, Malique, Jawaun, Marcus, Kaiden, and Cali; her bonus grandchildren Hannah, Ethan, Taylor, and Matthew; her great-grandchild Mae; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Francis Cole and Leona Pleasant; her grandparents, Eleanor and Cyril Middleton; brother Frankie Cole and the love of her life, Mandy Cain.
There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A celebration of Marlene’s life will be held in the spring.
