

Levy, Muriel Alice -84 was the only daughter of the late Chester M. Levy and Ella F (Webber) Levy passed away October 16, 2012 in the family home that she shared with her parents. She had been a long time resident of Digby and was an adherent of the United Baptist Church of Digby. Muriel was born in Framingham, MA, but became a Canadian Citizen in 1972. She graduated high school from the then Digby Academy and went on to obtain a secretarial certificate from Mount Allison University. She was employed at Ivy, Livermore and Dowley in London, Ontario and then onto McInnis, Cooper, and Robertson in Halifax. She had a very good professional, personal relationship with her former employer John Dickie and his family. Complications in her health forced her into an early retirement, which resulted in her relocation to Digby. Muriel is survived by her brother, Richard (Jackie) Levy, Marshalltown; niece, Margo (Robert) Nesbitt, Digby; grandnieces, Brooke (Zach) Nesbitt, Aylesford, Colton (Shelby) Nesbitt, Wilmot; Madison Nesbitt, Digby; 2 great grand nieces, Aubrey Lynn, Aylesford and Emma Jocelyn Rose , Greenwood; and several cousins. Muriel Alice Levy was predeceased by her brother Donald, niece Karen Jane (Bill) Sinclair, nephew Peter and sister-in– law Donna Joyce. No visitation or flowers by request. Memorial service will be held 11am Monday from the Digby United Baptist Church (corner of Montague Row and Mount St.) Digby. Rev. Donald Robertson will officiate with interment following the service in Woodlawn Cemetery, Digby. Donations in memory can be made to the Canadian Paraplegic Association, Northwood Care Foundation, Digby Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
