On July 25, 2019 a new angel arrived in Heaven. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Randy William Hutchins, 61 of Digby in Digby General Hospital, following a 9 month battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Toronto, Ont.; he was a son of Rodney and the late Shirley Hutchins. He is survived by the love of his life, wife Janice (O’Neil) Hutchins and loving daughter Jennifer (Mark); he was “B” to granddaughter Madison, grandsons Malik and Makai whom he adored. He is also survived by his father Rod, father in law Lawrence O’Neil, brother Ronnie (Karen); sister Christine; brother in law Mike (Kim); sisters in law Tammy and Tanya; many nieces and nephews. Randy was predeceased by his mother Shirley and mother in law Joan O’Neil.

Randy was employed as a trucker most of his life. He loved his mustangs and muscle cars were his passion. He loved his fur baby Tessa and special little friend Kobi.

There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will be held August 3, 2019 at 2pm in Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby (902-245-2525), Pastor Chuck Daniels officiating. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family wishes to thank Dr. John Black, nurses, Aunt Elaine, VON, palliative care, special friend Gaylene Potter and all family and friends, God Bless you all. I was very sad to read that Randy had died and I want to send you and your family, and Ronnie and all of his family my deepest sympathy. I am so sorry that he was taken from you all so young, but I hope that all the wonderful memories of the years together will ease some of the pain you all are experiencing.

My sincerest sympathy to Randy’s family. Our dads were friends just as Randy and I were through school. It’s never easy at any time to lose a loved one. It appears Randy put up a courageous battle against a very terrible disease that affects many people. May your memories of great family times ease your pain moving forward.
