Born in Kilkeel, Northern Ireland, he was the dearly beloved son of Hubert and Isobel Annett.
Richard (who was fondly known by all in Kilkeel as “Mousey”) and Alison his dear wife, immigrated to Canada in 2008, realising a dream of Richards to show Alison the world. They moved to Indian Head, Saskatchewan where they made many lifelong friends. They then moved to Kamloops, BC in 2013 where Richard was a heavy equipment mechanic at a copper mine. They lived there until March of 2022 before moving to Deep Brook, NS where Richard was very proud of his new repair shop he just opened. Richard had a passion for all things mechanical, motorcycles were a big part of his early life in Northern Ireland and his latter years in Canada. He was a great outdoors man and loved camping and being out on his boat fishing. Richard had many dogs throughout his life that all meant the world to him, Harley, Robbie, Mac, Sasha and his latest, devoted puppy Roxy, who misses him very much. He loved to travel with his wife all over Canada and enjoyed many day trips in Nova Scotia. He will be remembered for his huge smile and the twinkle in his eyes, for his easy going nature and his love and kindness to his families, both here in Canada and in Northern Ireland.
Richard will be lovingly remembered forever by his sorrowing wife, Alison; parents, Hubert and Isobel; brothers, Geoffrey (Maureen), Andrew (Valerie), David (Heather); Mother-in-law Florence(the late George) sister in law, Sharon (Russell); brothers in law, William (Emma), David (Julie), Gordon (Steph), Mark (Allison); his nieces, nephews, great niece and the wider Annett and Graham family circles, as well as his many dear friends.
A Celebration of Richard’s life will be held at the Bear River East Baptist Church on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 1pm with Pastor Fred Bigelow presiding.
In Lieu of flowers donations in memory of Richard may be made to the Bear River East Baptist Church c/o Ken Trimper.
