

Kinney, Ronald Delisle, 98 ,Ashmore, Digby Co.passed away peacefully on February 3, 2012 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Ronald was born in Ashmore, Digby Co. and was a son of the late Ellsworth Charles Kinney and Della Alcesta (Mullen) Kinney. He was a devoted husband , father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved his family very dearly. He was a member of the Bethel United Baptist Church, Ashmore. He was a proud member of Tuscan Lodge # 111, A.F. & A.M. of which he received his 50 year Jewel in 2001 and a 60 year bar in 2011. He was also a member of Riverside Cemetery Society as well as a member of the Weymouth Historical Society. He was a longtime fisherman, carpenter, boat builder, having built his own boats, home and many homes in the community. He acted as a pilot for ten years, piloting freighters which visited Weymouth North loading lumber and pulpwood for overseas. Ronald is survived by his daughter Judy MacDonald (Bob) , Middleton; son Gordon (Vera) , Plympton; sister Katherine Fitzgerald Nanimo,BC., five grandchildren Michelle, Patricia, Wendy, Lisa, and Denise, 18 great grandchildren. Ronald was predeceased by his wife of 72 years, Alma Beatrice (Bent) Kinney, brother Scott Kinney, Weymouth North; sister Lucy Forsythe, Wolfville and grandson Wade MacDonald, Middleton. A Masonic Service will be held 7 pm Monday, Feb. 6 from the Bethel United Baptist Church, Ashmore and from where funeral service will be 2pm Tuesday. Rev. Fred Bigelow will officiate. A private family interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Weymouth North. Donations in memory can be made to the Bethel United Baptist Church or to Riverside Cemetery, Weymouth North.
