Ruth Loraine Cameron

Cameron, Ruth Loraine age 92, Centreville, Digby Neck, went to be with Jesus in Heaven late in the day on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Digby General Hospital. Mom will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She was a daughter of the late Albert and Paulina ( Bunker) Titus. Our Mom had a great passion for her faith and was a member of the Centreville Baptist Church. She served as clerk for many years as well as a Deacon. She sang in the Choir, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Society. She was involved in all aspects of the church. After the closure of the Centreville Church, she attended the Little River Baptist Church, where she enjoyed worshipping and warm fellowship. She was an active member of the Digby Neck Friendly Hearts Senior’s group and more recently the Sizzling Senoirs group at the Digby Neck Firehall. She enjoyed reading, especially her Bible, doing newspaper puzzles, quilting , sewing, knitting, a good scrabble game and travelling. She is survived by daughters Pat, Carolyn (Dick) de Gier ; sons Donald (Virginia) , David (Pam), grandchildren Shawn, Danielle, Craig, Tyler, Krista , Brad, Alison, Alex, 3 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; sister Georgina Frost, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Roy; sisters Hazel, Marian, Esther, Estella; brothers Arthur, Roger, Victor and Edgar. Thanks to Dr. Robitaille and nursing staff at the Digby General Hospital as well as the doctors and nurses at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Special thanks to Nellie and David Russell for their kindness and caring for Mom over the years, as well as other neighbours and friends in the community. Visitation will be 4 – 7pm Friday, January 16 from Jayne’s Funeral Home 7 Birch St. Digby and from where funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, January 17. Pastor Noel Facey presiding with burial in Union Burial Ground, Centreville. Family flowers only.
