Shaun William Chafe

Shaun William Chafe was born May 29, 1975 in Digby, NS and passed away October 23, 2021 at Digby General Hospital. Shaun was well known for his “larger than life” presence, ability to run any piece of gear you put him in and the love he had for his family and friends. He was always willing to help a friend in need and offer support and advice to anyone who wanted it. Shaun has been a valued employee of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Lequille and Digby bases) for the past 16 years, starting out as a casual operator and taking on more roles and responsibilities in recent years. He was previously employed by Parker Mountain Aggregates, DJ Lowe Ltd., Blandak Investments Ltd., C&A Excavating Ltd., AJ Cole, O’Neill Fisheries Ltd., Town of Digby and O&M Trucking Ltd.

Shaun is survived by his loving partner of 26 years, Suzanne Doucette and their 3 children, Conner, Brooke and Brogan Chafe of Smith’s Cove. He is also survived by his sisters, Natasha (Shawn) Penney of Wolfville, Nikki Chafe (Emile) Doucette of Digby, Denise Thibodeau, of Calgary, AB; brother, Brendan (Lori) Frail of Bear River, as well as, mother, Margaret Cole, Digby; step mother, Margaret Chafe; niece, Eden Penney; nephews, Drew and Cole Gidney; brother in law, Ian Gidney, Mink Cove. Shaun was predeceased by his father, Leonard Chafe and sister, Crystal Foote.

Shaun loved a good yarn on the phone with his many friends, enjoyed spending time with Sue and the kids in his shop and playing a good game of darts, crib or poker while listening to music on his Cerwins.

Shaun lived life to the fullest and made no excuses along the way. We hope everyone remembers him this way. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends who loved him dearly.
