Sherwin Lawrence Doucette

Sherwin Lawrence Doucette – Age 70 of Marshalltown, passed away at home on October 30, 2017. Born at home in Marshalltown he was a son of the late Jessie and Primrose (Comeau) Doucette. Sherwin belonged to Knights of Columbus and was a devoted Catholic, faithfully attending St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Marshalltown until it closed then St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Digby. Sherwin worked as a fisherman when he was younger. He kept very active by fishing, walking, lifting weights, working in the garden or crafting something. Sherwin was close with all his family and is survived by sister, Doreen (Les) Barrett, New Minas; brothers, Alwin of Marshalltown; Rodney (Linda), Brighton; sister in-law Fern, Hillsburn; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased sister, Carolyn and brother, Roger. Visitation will be 7-9, Friday November 3 at Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby (902-245-2525). Funeral mass will be 1pm, Saturday November 4 at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church. Father Vincent Onyekelu will preside. Interment in Madonna Cemetery, Marshalltown. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sherwin can be made to Lions Club “Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs” where he received his guide dog, Radar.
