WEAGLE, Shirley Ann, age 80, of Digby, passed away Feb 9, 2020 in Digby General Hospital. Born in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late Harley and Alma (Joudrey) Weagle.

Shirley dedicated her entire life to the care and welfare of children. With her mother Alma, she helped hundreds of foster children transition into new homes. Even into her 60s and 70s she would babysit children regularly. Shirley was a caring person and would help anyone in any way she could. Her love of caring for other children was dwarfed only by the love of her own two sons, everything she did in life was for them. Shirley is survived by her sons, Edward Weagle and Keith Weagle; sister Marion Van Tassel; brothers, Ted Weagle, Ronald Weagle and Glen Titus. Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her sisters Helen Snow, Phyllis Goucher and brother Donald Weagle. She was the partner of Edward Amero and Keith Van Tassell.

A celebration of life will be held for family and close friends only. Shirley will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Digby. Share a memory or leave a condolence at www.jaynesfuneralhome.com

Aunt Shirley was always there when we went on vacation. She taught me to knit with two of Grampie's spikes. She also showed me where the best berry picking was. Her love of children was what I think of. She wanted and love her boys greatly. Her care of her parents was an example to us all. Thoughts and prayers are with you Eddie and Keith.

Ed, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother loved you guys like nothing else, and I’m sure she took her last breath thinking only of you and your brother. I’m sure nothing was left unsaid over the years, so you can be at peace knowing she lived a full and happy life, doing what she truly wanted. I hope you find comfort in that as you go through the grieving process. Xox 💜

What a sweet lady.
Years ago She babysat my kids and I worked shift work
She would keep the kids all night .all day
Whenever I needed her she was there.
And feed them lots of hot dogs
My kids didn't mind at all. Lol
So kind to everyone.
Sending out my condolences.
