Shyla Rose Harris

We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Shyla Rose Harris, age 38 of Bear River First Nation on August 25th, 2013. Shyla was born in Red Deere, Alberta, a daughter of Sheila Goucher- Harris (Lewis Armstrong) and the late Dale Harris. Shyla loved her horses, Cowboy, Rory and dog Saddie-May. She loved partying with her family and friends. She took an interest in the Mi’kmaw Culture and was an auxillary Member at Bear River Legion Branch #22. She was going back to school to train as a CCA. Shyla will be greatly missed by all her family and friends, she is survived by spouse, Michael Cory Louis Ryan; daughters, Keely Harris (Justin Dempster), Middleton; Raine Ryan, at home; son, Arthur Andrews Jr., at home; sisters, Laurie (Robin) King, Nictaux; Taunya (Steven) Freeman, Caledonia, brother, Jayden Hardy, Deep Brook; sister in laws, Tracey (Perry) Goucher, Bear River First Nations; Kortney Haliday; brother in law, Kolin Haliday; granddaughter, Breeze Dempster, Middleton; in-laws, Lorraine (Tony) Melanson; Mamma, Agnes Potter; nieces, Ashley, Raya, Morgan, Raven, Camryn, Korey, Patience; nephews, Josh and Tristan. Besides her father, Shyla was predeceased by grandparents, Earl and Pauline Goucher; Fred and Mary Harris and niece Karissa Boudreau. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Jayne’s Funeral Home, (245-2525) Digby. Visitation will be12pm-2pm, Saturday August 31st followed by Funeral service at 2pm from Bear River First Nation Heritage and Cultural Centre. Pastor Mark Cress presiding.
