Sydney Russell Gidney

With heavy heart we inform you that Sydney Russell Gidney passed away on January 29, 2015 at the age of 51. Sydney was a fisherman and loved being on the water. He enjoyed playing guitar with his boys and going hunting. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Sydney is survived by wife, April (Nesbitt) Gidney; sons, Jody Gidney and Jessie Gidney; granddaughter, Faith Rowe; mother, Evelyn (Hersey) Gidney; sister, Kendra (Wayne Doucette) Gidney; brothers, Matthew (Judy) Gidney, Patrick (Vicki) Gidney; nieces; Melinda Ross, Elizabeth Simmons; nephews, Matthew Ross, Timothy Bunker, Dillin Larramore, Ethan Gidney; great-nephew, Bailey; great-nieces, Maddison and Laurel. Sydney was predeceased by his father, Richard Eugene Gidney and brother, Richard Conrad Gidney. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9, Tuesday February 3rd, from Jayne's Funeral Home, 7 Birch Street, Digby (245-2525). A memorial service will be at 2pm, Wednesday February 4th from Digby Neck Fire Hall in Sandy Cove. Pastor Mark Cress and Rev. Mel Malton to preside.
