Verna Mae Applejohn

Applejohn, Verna Mae – Age 84 of Digby, passed away July 9th, 2014 in Tideview Terrace. She was a daughter of the late Albert and Henrietta Warner. Verna was a maternity nurse at Digby General Hospital for many years and a lifelong member of Digby Baptist Church. Verna loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cross-stitching. She is survived by daughters, Nancee (Adrian) Dyer; Pamela (Stephen) Savary; sons, Richard (Jane); Peter (Heather); Gregory (Debbie); Mark (Nadine); sisters, Ardis (Bob) Moore, Ont; brothers, Carl (Greta), Debert; Alan Nichols, California; grandchildren, Jason (Marie Claude), Matthew (Summer), Leah, Danielle (Chris), Kirk, Craig (Tina), Nicholas (Joanna), Lesley (Ivan), Kyle (Ashley), Hollie (Craig), Stephen (Kyla), Jared, Ryan (Molly), Joseph; 15 great grandchildren and lifelong friend, Zellie Frankland. Verna was predeceased by husband, Richard “Pete” Applejohn; sister, Anne; brothers, Paul, Earl and grandson, Christopher. Arrangements under the direction of Jayne's Funeral Home, Digby, NS. No visitation by request. Funeral service will be 2pm, Monday July 14th, 2014 from Digby Baptist Church. Rev. Jeff White and Pastor Donald Robertson presiding. Interment in woodlawn Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to Digby Foodbank or Tideview Terrace.
