Betty Lou Orsbun passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, in Visalia, California, at the age of 84. Born on June 1, 1941, in Gobler, Missouri, Betty was a cherished member of a large and loving Midwest family.
She shared her childhood with many siblings—sisters Marilee Harper, Barbara Mock, Judy Guzman, and Jeannie Faye Littman, and brothers Marvin Dale Busby, Carol Busby, and Rip Busby. Their bonds were filled with spirited competition and deep affection that lasted throughout their lives. Betty often spoke fondly of her siblings, even as some preceded her in passing.
Betty was reunited in heaven with her husband Robert Orsbun; her former husband James Grigsby Sr.; and her sons Darryl Atchley, Alan Grigsby Jr., and Lorne Grigsby, and her beautiful Dodson Buster, along with German shepherd Alpha. Her memory will be lovingly carried forward by her surviving children, Danny Atchley and Debra Winters. She leaves behind a legacy of love that extends to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. Betty had a remarkable way of staying connected with each of them—through phone calls, thoughtful gifts, or simple check-ins—always making sure they felt loved and remembered.
To those who knew her best—including her son-in-law who fondly recalls their playful banter and shared laughter—Betty was not only a devoted mother but also a loyal friend. Her life was one of connection, care, and unwavering devotion to family. As we remember Betty Lou Orsbun, we celebrate the joy she brought into the world and the lasting imprint she leaves on all who knew her.
“When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” – John 14:3.
