Candelario "El Puma" Gonzalez Loreto

Candelario was born in Jalisco, Mexico, to Maria Loreto and Pilar Gonzalez. His biological mother passed away when he was just an infant, and he was lovingly raised by Hermelinda De La Cerda, whom he always considered his mom.

He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, known for his big heart, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to others.

A hardworking man throughout his life, Candelario spent over 40 years as a farm laborer. His incredible speed and agility in the fields earned him the nickname “El Puma,” a name that stayed with him and symbolized his strength, energy, and determination. He took pride in his work and passed on the values of effort, humility, and perseverance to his children and grandchildren.

He shared nearly 53 years of loving marriage with his wife, Gloria Garcia de Gonzalez. Together, they built a home full of laughter, strength, and compassion. Candelario was the kind of person who never hesitated to open the doors of his home to those in need, offering a place to stay while they got on their feet. His generosity left a deep impact on everyone who knew him.

With a very social spirit, Candelario was a familiar figure in the Cutler-Orosi community, riding his bicycle around town every morning to greet friends and neighbors before breakfast. These rides became a cherished tradition and a symbol of his energy and kindness. With a great sense of humor and always respectful, he brought joy and comfort to those around him. His nieces and nephews remember him fondly as a very special uncle, playful and big-hearted.

Despite facing health problems over the past decade, Candelario demonstrated admirable strength and perseverance. His courage was a source of inspiration to his loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria; his children: Candelario Gonzalez, Mary Guzman, Jose Gonzalez, Juan Alberto Gonzalez, Francy Mendoza, Pedro Gonzalez, Antonio Gonzalez, and Gaby Gonzalez. He also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 10 sisters, and 3 brothers, who will continue to honor his memory with love and pride.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pilar Gonzalez, his biological mother, Maria Loreto, his mom, Hermelinda De La Cerda and one brother.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Dopkins Funeral Chapel, 189 South J Street, Dinuba, CA. The funeral service will be held Friday, August 15, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the same location, followed by burial at Smith Mountain Cemetery, 42088 Rd 100, Dinuba, CA.

Candelario’s legacy—of kindness, humor, hard work, and generosity—will live forever in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.

Candelario "El Puma" González Loreto, de 78 años, residente de Dinuba, California, falleció en paz el domingo 27 de julio de 2025, rodeado de su familia.

Candelario nació en Jalisco, México, hijo de María Loreto y Pilar González. Su madre biológica falleció cuando él era apenas un bebé, y fue criado con amor por Hermelinda De La Cerda, a quien siempre consideró su mamá.

Fue un esposo, padre, abuelo, hermano y amigo orgulloso, conocido por su gran corazón, espíritu generoso y dedicación inquebrantable hacia los demás.

Trabajador incansable durante toda su vida, Candelario dedicó más de 40 años al trabajo agrícola. Su increíble velocidad y agilidad en el campo le valieron el apodo de "El Puma", un nombre que lo acompañó siempre y que simbolizaba su fuerza, energía y determinación. Se sentía orgulloso de su trabajo y transmitió a sus hijos y nietos los valores del esfuerzo, la humildad y la perseverancia.

Compartió casi 53 años de matrimonio lleno de amor con su esposa, Gloria García de González. Juntos formaron un hogar lleno de risas, fortaleza y compasión. Candelario era el tipo de persona que nunca dudaba en abrir las puertas de su casa a quienes lo necesitaban, ofreciendo un lugar donde quedarse mientras se establecían. Su generosidad dejó una huella profunda en todos los que lo conocieron.

De espíritu muy social, Candelario era una figura familiar en las comunidades de Cutler-Orosi, recorriendo la ciudad en su bicicleta cada mañana para saludar a amigos y vecinos antes del desayuno. Estos paseos se convirtieron en una tradición querida y en símbolo de su energía y amabilidad. Con un gran sentido del humor y siempre respetuoso, traía alegría y consuelo a quienes lo rodeaban. Sus sobrinos y sobrinas lo recuerdan con cariño como un tío muy especial, juguetón y de gran corazón.

A pesar de enfrentar problemas de salud durante la última década, Candelario demostró una fortaleza y perseverancia admirables. Su valentía fue una fuente de inspiración para sus seres queridos.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Gloria; sus hijos: Candelario González, Mary Guzmán, José González, Juan Alberto González, Francy Mendoza, Pedro González, Antonio González y Gaby González. También deja 19 nietos, 10 hermanas y 3 hermanos, quienes continuarán honrando su memoria con amor y orgullo.

Fue precedido en la muerte por su padre, Pilar González, su madre biológica, María Loreto, su mamá, Hermelinda De La Cerda y un hermano.

La velación se llevará a cabo el jueves 14 de agosto de 2025, de 5:00 p.m. a 10:00 p.m., en Dopkins Funeral Chapel, 189 South J Street, Dinuba, CA. El funeral se celebrará el viernes 15 de agosto de 2025 a las 12:00 p.m. en el mismo lugar, seguido del entierro en el cementerio Smith Mountain, 42088 Rd 100, Dinuba, CA.

El legado de Candelario —de bondad, humor, trabajo duro y generosidad— vivirá por siempre en los corazones de quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.
