Elizabeth “Sherry” Villanueva was born in Anchorage, AK on December 15th, 1962, to Ricardo Villanueva and Isabel Gonzales. She passed away at the age of 63 years old on January 29th, 2026. She is lovingly remembered by her Mother Isabel, daughter Melinda “Nikki” Rodriguez, son Robert De la Rosa Jr., sisters Suzie (Paul) Silva, Sylvia (Mark) Amaral, brothers Donny (Crystal) Gonzales, Rudy (Elsa) Gonzales, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her father Ricardo Villanueva, and her sister Beverly Villanueva. Sherry was the oldest of six siblings, she traveled with her family to many different states and countries where her father was stationed with the Army. She graduated from Dinuba High School and went on to work in many different jobs as a waitress, hairdresser, and customer service positions.
Sherry was a devout woman of God, belonging to different churches throughout her life, and making many close friends. She was always kind to others and would offer to help any way that she could to those in need, which included helping the homeless with whatever little she had. She loved animals and had many pets throughout the years. Sherry also enjoyed making crafts, writing journals, and painting. She was known to send special letters and cards to those she loved. Sherry always had the brightest spirit, and a sharp memory, often talking about her childhood experiences when travelling. Sherry also enjoyed watching movies, singing, and reading the Bible.
Sherry will be missed by all those that loved her, and all those whose hearts she touched throughout her life. She will be remembered for her unwavering hospitality, her love for the Lord, and her free spirit that brought joy and laughter.
