Emma Chavez

Emma dedicated over 40 years to teaching, leaving a lasting impact on countless students. Her passion for education and commitment to her community were evident throughout her life. A devoted Christian, she lived her faith through kindness and service to others.

She is survived by her children: Sharon Rouse, Karen Madrid, George Chavez Jr., Monica Chavez, Timothy Chavez, and Bertha Hoeppner. She is also survived by her siblings: Gloria Rodriguez, Lucy De Luna, Felix Huerta, Sarah Ponce, Nellie Martinez, and Isabel Huerta. Emma was a beloved grandmother to 13 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Chavez; her parents Maria and Salvador Huerta ; her grandson, Matthew Chavez; her grandson, Scott Quicksall; and ten of her siblings.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dopkins Funeral Chapel, 189 South J Street, Dinuba, CA 93618, with a wake service at 6:00 PM. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM at New Life Community Church, 110 N Nichols Ave, Dinuba, CA 93618. Interment will follow at Smith Mountain Cemetery, 42088 Rd 100, Dinuba, CA 93618.

Emma’s dedication to family and education will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
