Epolito Peter Burciaga passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015, at the age of 65. Born in Dinuba, Epolito grew up in Sultana and lived there until he enlisted in the Army in 1968. He served our military for 42 years, working as a pharmacy technician for 39 of those years.
He is predeceased by his parents, Hypolito and Felipa Burciaga, a brother, Lawrence Burciaga, and a sister, Jean Weese.
He is survived by his son, Raimundo Burciaga of San Francisco; his daughter, Edelina Burciaga Winters of Irvine, CA,; 2 grandchildren, Noah Andres Winters and one-on-the-way; his brothers, Manuel Burciaga, Ralph Burciaga and Gilbert Burciaga; and his sisters, Teresa Marin, Vicenta B. Paredez, Rosemary Burciaga, Georgia Gutierrez and Linda Villegas.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 31, 2015, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Dopkins Funeral Chapel with the rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church on Monday, February 2, 2015, followed by interment at Smith Mountain Cemetery.
