Herlinda Garcia was born on February 9, 1948, in General Terán, Nuevo León, Mexico, to Vicente Gonzales and Eulogia Estrada. On November 21, 1964, she married her sweetheart, Pedro Garcia. Shortly thereafter, they moved to the United States to build a future together. Three years later, they welcomed their son, Miguel, and settled in the Orosi area, where they worked hard to provide for their family.
Herlinda passed away on January 10, 2026, in Hanford, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Garcia; her parents, Vicente and Eulogia Gonzales; and siblings who passed before her.
She is survived by her son, Miguel Garcia, and his wife, Rebecca; her cherished granddaughters, Larissa Rojas and her husband Anthony, Cassandra Garcia, Samantha Verde and her husband Manny, and Tabytha Garcia; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Jackson and Madison Rojas.
Herlinda lived a life defined by faith, service, and unconditional love. She loved God deeply and demonstrated her devotion through faithful church attendance and generous giving. Her granddaughters and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she never hesitated to sacrifice her own comfort to bring happiness to theirs.
Though she never had much in material possessions, her heart was rich with generosity and a spirit of servitude. She gave freely of what she had—especially her time, her kindness, and her food. She never steered away from hard work, and her home was always open. Her traditional Mexican cooking was an expression of her love, touching the lives of family and friends.
Herlinda’s legacy lives on in the love she shared, the family she nurtured, and the faith she carried so faithfully. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
