Irene E. Parker was born on Sept. 13, 1918, in Worthington, MN. She died on July 25, 2017, in Reedley, CA, at the age of 98. She had worked as a cook at St. LaSalle school for 40 years. She was preceded in death by her son, James R. VanWinkle, and a brother, Van Halstead.
Irene is survived by her son, Thomas Richard VanWinkle of Youngstown, OH; her daughter, Barbara VanWinkle of Reedley; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; onw great granddaughter; a brother, Robert Halstead; and three sisters, Marie Adams, Laura Spears, and June Halstead.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 31, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, followed by burial at Reedley Cemetery.
