

Joseph (Joe) Hernandez Jr. passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Joe was 64. He died at Kaiser Hospital in Anaheim, CA surrounded by his son Jimmy and sisters and brothers. Joe was a native of Sultana, CA and graduated from Dinuba High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1973-1977 where he tested and repaired the electrical/electro-mechanical systems of aircraft including the U.S. Navy F-14 fighter aircraft. He was honorably discharged and awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Joe recently retired from a 31 year career as an Electrical Instrumentation Technician at Northrop Grumman in El Segundo, California where he worked on aircraft systems and achieved Top Secret Clearance and assignments on classified programs. He leaves behind one son, Jimmy Hernandez and grandsons Anthony and Robert Hernandez who reside in Hawaiian Gardens, California. He is also is survived by brothers John and Pete Hernandez and Robert Enriquez; sisters Ritchie Hernandez, Vivian Franco, Mary Ortega and Juanita Garza. His family will miss his unconditional love, his wit, his humility, and his generous spirit. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Marcelino and Dorotea Jaramillo and mother Mary Jaramillo Hernandez. Viewing will be at Dopkins Chapel on Friday, September 15th from 4-8 with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, Sept. 16th at 8 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Dinuba. Internment will be at Smith Mountain Cemetery.
