Jose “Pepe” Ortega Jr., 69, of Orosi, California, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026. He was born on September 29, 1956, in Dinuba, California, to Esperanza and Jose Ortega and was the eighth of fourteen children.
Jose was a devoted husband and father who cherished his family, including his wife, Aurora, and his children, Robert, Erica and Natalie.
Jose enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, watching sports, especially his beloved 49ers, and spending time with his family. He was known for his humor, his playful personality, his willingness to fix just about anything, and his deep faith in God. He began each day reading his Bible and carried his faith with him throughout his life.
Jose will be remembered for his laughter, his jokes, his generous heart, and the many simple traditions that made his family feel at home. He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
